Mouhit is launching the Artist in Residence Program with the aim of supporting the development of Tunisian artists of diverse ages, backgrounds, and disciplines. It provides an opportunity for artists at all levels of their career to work in a space that favors experimentation, access materials, labs, get support from mentors and connect with a broader network. At the end of the residency, artists are encouraged to share their work with the public through open studios, an exhibition or other formats.

This round of our open call will welcome one application from an artist and one from a curator to cohabit the space together. In parallel to their personal residencies, and with the support of mentors, the two residents will collaborate on a project which could take diverse shapes such as: a talk (live or recorded), performance, dinner, an experimental exhibition, workshop, etc.

Space

Mouhit Space is a three-story residence located in Menzah 1, featuring a large garden. It offers a private, fully furnished bedroom with a double bed, desk, free Wi-Fi, and a shared bathroom. Residents have access to a bright, sunny shared workspace with a large work table, as well as a versatile outdoor area.

Common areas include a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom, and restroom. A sound studio is also available upon request. The shared spaces are designed to foster collaboration and communication among guests and residents, encouraging the exchange of ideas and creative synergy.

The spacious garden and outdoor work areas accommodate a variety of production processes and can also be used as exhibition spaces. The house, along with the peaceful neighborhood, provides an ideal environment for reflection, experimentation, and creation—whether an artist is focused on research or production.
