“I am deeply inspired by Arab and North African musical traditions, as well as the rituals and beliefs surrounding them. I seek to celebrate these cultural riches while reinterpreting them in a contemporary and innovative manner.

The project focuses on the creation of unique musical instruments. I have embarked on the journey of crafting instruments using organic materials such as cow horn, goat skin, bamboo, and beeswax. This artisanal approach adds a special dimension to my instruments, imbuing them with a deep connection to nature and the history of my region.

My instruments serve as a fascinating intersection between the realms of life and death. They are crafted from organic materials that undergo a gradual process of decomposition. However, through the act of breathing life into them, a baby instrument is awakened, defying the boundaries of mortality.

The concept of breath and its life-giving force takes center stage in my artistic practice. While I may not possess the boundless breath of a deity, my own breath becomes the catalyst for the reanimation of these instruments. This act highlights the inherent limitations and imperfections of human existence, reminding us of our mortality and the transient nature of life.

Moreover, these instruments challenge traditional notions of sound production and push the boundaries of what is considered music. They produce unconventional and ethereal sounds that defy categorization, transporting listeners to a realm where the familiar and the unknown intertwine. By breaking free from established norms, I strive to create a unique sonic experience that evokes a sense of wonder and contemplation.”
